Part two of our Discovery Day panel event is now online

Last week, we at Curtis Brown Creative celebrated the 88th anniversary (in days, that is) of Discovery Day by uploading the first part of the exclusive panel event that saw CBC director Anna Davis, Curtis Brown Joint CEO and literary agent Jonny Geller, Little, Brown publisher David Shelley, bestselling author SJ Watson and his agent Clare Conville of Conville & Walsh discuss the future of the debut novel.

Well, as their insightful observations on writing, publishing and agenting garnered more hits than a new Lady Gaga video – OK, we’re exaggerating – we decided not to keep you waiting any longer, and have now uploaded the second part of the session for everyone to view.

In this final half, Anna Davis, who chaired the event, invited questions from the 100 or so aspiring writers in the audience. And, as you’ll see, the panellists gave answers on everything from the increased ‘branding’ of the author and the differences between UK and US publishing to maintaining confidence in your work and the importance of creative-writing schools. As far as we’re aware, Lady Gaga has never given you information like that…
