Allison DeFrees
Allison DeFrees is an editor and former literary agent. She joined C&W in 2016 as the assistant to Clare Conville, helping her with her incredible, eclectic list of authors for several years before taking the decision to go freelance. Originally from Los Angeles, she was a contracts and immigration lawyer in the US before moving into the arts, and has worked as an actor, puppeteer and playwright. She is a former Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Poetry Translation Centre, and a long-standing member of the CBC editorial team. Her interests include literary fiction, narrative non-fiction/memoir and YA.
