We at Curtis Brown Creative try to offer a scholarship place on our creative writing courses whenever we can. But without the support of sponsors, it’s impossible. So it’s with immense pleasure – and a little bit of awe at such an altruistic act – that we’re able to announce the new Sarah Quinn scholarship. Thanks to former Curtis Brown Creative student Sarah (above), who studied on our Autumn 2015 six-month course, one student of limited financial means will be awarded a fully funded place on our upcoming Six-Month Novel-Writing Course.

Sarah’s own story could have come right out of a novel. As she explains in this video, a kind benefactor once selflessly donated the funds that Sarah needed to remain at university when she could no longer afford to support herself. It’s by means of this generosity that she feels she is where she is today, and now, 20 years later, she’s paying the favour forward.

Here’s how the scholarship words: if you have a low income and small or no savings, check the eligibility criteria to see if you qualify for the scholarship. If so, simply fill in the application to the Six-Month Novel-Writing Course as normal, and make sure that you complete the special scholarship section of the application form. That’s it.
