Yvvette Edwards
Yvvette Edwards is a British East Londoner of Montserratian origin and author of A Cupboard Full of Coats and The Mother. She has written a number of short stories which have been broadcast on radio and published in anthologies, including New Daughters of Africa. Her work has been nominated for a number of literary awards including the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize and the Man Booker Prize. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
She is passionate about writing that challenges the single narrative and established stereotypes, giving voice to characters who are absent or under-represented on the contemporary literary landscape. Photo by Jo Millington.
