Develop your writingWe are excited to announce this new scholarship enabling one writer to join us in London for our Writing TV Drama – Three Months course.
This scholarship is sponsored by the UTA Foundation, the non-profit organisation operated by United Talent Agency. Founded in 2004, the UTA Foundation raises awareness on social issues, provides resources to nonprofits, and implements social good programs.
UTA is a global talent agency based in Beverly Hills, California. Established in 1991, it represents artists and other professionals across the entertainment industry. In June 2022, UTA acquired The Curtis Brown Group.
One talented writer with limited financial means will receive a fully paid place on this course, led by award-winning writer, producer and director Jamie Nuttgens, with three masterclasses from TV professionals.
- Travel Stipend: The scholarship winner will be given a travel stipend (up to the value of £250) to contribute to the cost of travelling to attend classes in central London.
- Final Draft: The scholar will also receive a digital download of the latest version of the premier screenwriting software Final Draft (worth £181).
This scholarship is also part of our Breakthrough Writers’ Programme, a major outreach programme which offers opportunities to under-represented writers. We are keen to promote diversity in our student groups and to enable talented writers to join our courses who we might not otherwise have heard from.
You don't need a degree or any experience of the TV industry to apply for this scholarship: If you have a good idea, the desire to write television drama and to learn – and if you’re a writer without the financial means to attend a Curtis Brown Creative course, this scholarship opportunity is for you.
