About Barry Kernon
Barry Kernon is an accounting and tax consultant, who advises many media clients at HW Fisher. Barry works with many authors, journalists, artists, musicians, producers, directors and media world professionals, specialising in tax treatment in the creative industries. While also advising many smaller businesses operating in a wide variety of sectors, Barry has many years of experience providing specialist advice in tax planning, reducing tax liabilities, including the use of limited companies and strategic business advice, as well as accounts preparation. Barry advises clients on many tax matters, including VAT, inheritance tax, capital gains tax, corporation tax, and deals with all aspects of authors’ tax advice.
After becoming a qualified accountant in 1970, Barry had his own practice for many years until it merged with HW Fisher in 2002. Also, Honorary Treasurer of the Society of Authors, Barry was once nominated to attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace in recognition of his many years of service.
