Charlotte Cray
Charlotte Cray is a freelance editor, a Publishing Director for five years at Hutchinson Heinemann (Penguin Random House) and before that Editorial Director at The Borough Press (HarperCollins). Having worked in publishing for fifteen years, she offers an expertise in literary, crossover fiction and memoir publishing. Among the many brilliant books and authors she has worked with, she commissioned million-copy bestseller How to Kill Your Family by Bella Mackie, Sunday Times bestseller Adults by Emma Jane Unsworth and Highland Prize-winner Sea Bean. She has spoken at the Institute for Continuing Education at Cambridge University, at the University of Sussex and the University of Roehampton. She works directly with authors at any stage in their process with a focus on authenticity of voice and a pastoral approach.
Also a non-practicing barrister, Charlotte lives in Brighton with her husband and two children, where she swims and gardens heartily.
