Craig Barr-Green
Craig lives and works in Cornwall with his wife and children. He has written for stage, page, radio and screen and founded the SLT publishing company Clickety Books. He also lectures in Children’s Literature at Falmouth University. Craig’s first two picture books Captured! (2015) and A Christmas in Cornwall (2016) were published by Mabecron and illustrated by Oliver Hurst. The books won two Holyer an Gof awards, and the Anne Trevenen Jenkin Cup for outstanding book of the year. He is the author of two books in the Gina Kaminski series, illustrated by Francis Martin and published by Little Tiger. Gina is an autistic hero who remixes fairytales to create better endings for the misunderstood baddies. The books have been shortlisted for many awards, including the Waterstones Children’s Book prize 2025. In 2023, Craig was a writer and script editor for Arthur’s Club, an immersive, inclusive theatrical experience that weaves key word signing into the storytelling, so sign and spoken word are intrinsically linked. In 2024, Craig adapted his own book into Nadelik: a family theatrical experience staged in the ancient plen-an-gwary tradition. The play was produced by o-region and directed by Simon Harvey, and incorporates puppetry, Cornish language and original songs. Craig is currently developing his first feature horror film.
