James Aitcheson
A novelist, medievalist, literary consultant and creative writing lecturer based in Nottingham, James Aitcheson been writing professionally since 2010.
He is the author of four historical novels set in the Middle Ages, which are published in the UK, the US, Germany and the Czech Republic. His fourth novel, The Harrowing (2016), was named a Book of the Month by The Times.
Born in Wiltshire in 1985, James studied History at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, where he developed a special interest in the Middle Ages. In 2021, he received his PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Nottingham, where he is currently an Honorary Visiting Fellow. He is also an Associate Lecturer in Creative Writing at Sheffield Hallam University.
