Rowan Somerville
Rowan Somerville’s first novel The End Of Sleep was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Prize in the UK and the Best First Novel in Ireland. A second followed, The Shape Of Her, described as 'darkly erotic and offbeat' by the Irish Times and 'a study of the place where our past has become our present' by The Economist. His next work Beat was Narrative Non-Fiction about a suicide bomb and a heart transplant between a Palestinian Muslim and an Israeli Jew. The Irish Examiner described it as 'one of the best books on the Middle East I have ever read' and The Independent called it 'one of the best books of 2017 in any genre'. He has been teaching Creative Writing for the past decade, as well as working closely with writers.
